How in the name of all that is holy did Cal come in ahead of Tennessee? The last time i checked, UT took Cal to the woodshed!! This is just one of the reasons why i feel there needs to be a playoff system for college football. The BCS is flawed, it relies too much on computer and not enough of what the teams actually do on the field. The other reasons would take a lot of time to explain, and i'm just too tired to go into it right now plus i have a mid-term tomorrow morning and i need to study for that bad boy.

o yeah and the Tigers are headed to the World Series: Tigers in 6

fell in love with the game

As i spend another day watching college football i have decided that this time of year could very possibly be the best time of year for sports, in no particular order you have college football, baseball playoffs and professional football. Speaking of baseball playoffs my faith has been restored somewhat as i watched the Detroit Tigers beat the yankees, the Tigers came back out and celebrated with the fans. That is something that you don't see hardly anymore in the major league. I'm a devout braves fan, but i don't think that they would celebrate the way the Tigers did. I would love if the Braves did that but i know they won't because they are comfortable where they are, this is the first time in 14 years that the braves haven't been in the postseason.

My friend Carsten (check out his blog http://www.christmasgirlsandsports.blogspot.com) and i were discussing how teams like the Yankees celebrate only when they win the World Series, they don't get that fired up when they win the regular season division, the divisional series or any other series. Money can buy you all the talented players you could need, but it won't buy you a team. There is a chemistry that a team like the Tigers have that the Yankees only wish they had. As a result of the Detroit team celebrating with their fans tonight, from this point on in the post-season for baseball i will be pullin for the Detroit Tigers

but tonight we dance

Well last night was heartbreaking, thats the best way i can explain my feelings after that game. UT did not play a bad game, UT played an exceptional game; a game, that i believe, would have beaten any other team on our schedule this season. They faced the toughest front seven in the SEC, and scored 20 points. I won't go into the interception return for a TD that was called back cause that will only cause me to scream and shout obscenities. On the whole it was an amazing experience and i thank Michael for allowing me to go with him. Here is a picture of where our seats were for the game

On another note i have a bone to pick with ESPN, and one to pick with ABC (which i'll address tomorrow).

ESPN: Last night after the game we (Michael and I) were watching the college gameday wrap up on ESPN, and they cut to a story about a young man from Iowa, the young man's name was Mike Klinkenborg. This young man suffered a loss more significant than any football game, and that was the loss of his father. The commentators were going on and on about it on ESPN during the game, and after the game the sideline reporter proceeds to ask a visibly shaken Klinkenborg how he's feeling after the game. The young man was crying, and they ask him how he's doing. Honestly, did this guy need to ask? I thought this was pretty classless on the part of ESPN. We know how the young man was doing. We know that he is upset, and the one thing he didn't need was a nosy sideline reporter asking him how he was doing. I'm sure he wanted nothing more than to find his family and be with them. Instead we see a greasy sideline reporter with slick hair and a microphone and a camera in his face. ESPN did well to address this story during the game, but they decided to take it too far, and for that I am disappointed. Hopefully ESPN can redeem themselves in the future.

from here you can almost see the sea

This weekend i am embarking on an adventure the likes of which i have never been on. I can see you are giddy with anticipation, well saturday mornin i'm packin up the car and i'm heading towards Knoxville to see my first ever Volunteer rivalry game. Thats right in all my years of bein a Tennessee fan i've never been to Knoxville to see my beloved Vols take on an SEC rival, but that all ends saturday night at 8 pm EST when i see the Vols and the gators take the field.

You can be sure that the digital camera will be there and numerous pics will be taken. In the mean time i have to bide my time with school and work. Both of which have taken off in a new area this semester. I am taking 9 hours of class on top of 35-40 hours of work a week. Its not all bad though, i have about 2 hours in the middle of the day when the kiddies are asleep to read, and i do get a lot of that type of stuff done.

Enough of the writing and blogging if you will i must return to the unending reading that confronts me...
climbing up the walls

well i have successfully completed spring break without getting anything accomplished. most of the thanks for that can be directed towards the people that run the ecampus at my school.

well yesterday at work, one of the women i work with decided to yell at a 4 year old because he thought he had peed his pants. its understandable to be upset that the kid didn't say anything, but this woman was yelling to the point that the boy started crying. at one point the woman said "what the he... what were you thinking" it was frustrating beyond belief. turns out the kid did not in fact pee himself, so the woman yelled at him for no reason.

today i confronted her about it, she apologized rather insincerely, and proceded to tell the kid what he did yesterday was still wrong.

what is frustrating about the whole situation, is this woman claims to be a christian. on more than one occasion she tells me that she reads her Bible twice a day, prays all the time, and tries to make a point to tell me how great her faith life is... all to gather attention. its true what the Bible says about the fruits people produce reflecting whats in their heart. the anger and harshness that she has is almost unbearable, and makes me wonder sometimes. i know i'm not perfect, but i realize that in my two years with working with preschoolers, a 4 year old sometimes is not gonna know when he needs to go to the bathroom and when he doesn't... i don't understand why she can't with her almost 10 years experience.
another travelin song

being a preschool worker(read daycare worker), can have its ups and downs. the ups are the kids can really turn a otherwise crappy day into a bearable one. the downs are they disobey me from time to time, and i have to get angry with them so they remember not to repeat the behavior. here's an example of an up moment from today. the past couple of days i have been struggling with the beginnings of a head cold. i haven't been able to hear clearly, or breathe for that matter. and i was not looking forward to dealing with all the attention that little kids need.

back to the story: as i'm sitting in the room today, the kids are still asleep during naptime, the other teacher is off in the corner asleep or something. one of the little girls gets up from her cot, comes over and taps me on the shoulder. i immediately think she needs to go to the bathroom. i ask her what she needs, she says "nothing, you just looked like you needed a hug". she gives me a hug and goes back and lays down on her cot.

i was blown away, i almost cried, in fact a little tear might have shown itself in the corner of my eye. its amazing how kids can sense when things aren't right.
<img width='1' height='1' Love Angela"

not sure why i thought it was funny, maybe because it was an ad that this girl took out for her man, Julio. or maybe it was the name julio, which i can never say without smiling or laughing ever so slightly. or maybe it was the 'second time' part. makes one question whtether they had been married once, or he turned her down the first, or maybe she turned him down and realized what a man she had lost in julio... i did it again that made me snicker just a bit.

these pictures were taken from the top of a mountain in West Virginia where type='text'>left with alibis and lying eyes

there is something slightly disturbing about seeing a man in his mid-40s on a stage at a local restaraunt singing, and swaying his hips back and forth like one of those hula-girls that are seen on the dashboards of cars. it was one of those things that made me feel funny.

as i sat their and tried to ignore the music(thats a liberal use of the word), i thought about how people try to hold onto their past, and how ridiculous it is. why do we desire to hold on to a past when we have something so much greater in store? i wish i had an answer to that.

on a sad note today marked the end of a beautiful season for the Tennessee Volunteers. they were downed by the shockers type='text'>achilles last stand

i have sat here for the past hour tryin to find something clever to write about. but my mind is a complete blank. i have my greek girlfriend to thank for that. she drains me everyday cause she requires all of my free time... i am only half kidding about that. the greek girlfriend i am referring to is my greek homework that i have to do everyday. i don't expect an actual girlfriend to 'drain' my time, and i know i will enjoy spendin time with her. that was a really convoluted way of saying that i am mentally drained. so instead of anymore writing i'm gonna put a couple pretty pictures of the sky off my back deck in east tennessee.

i was also convicted this week by my friend ryan when he opened my phone and saw that it read psalm 56 on the banner, and asked me what the scripture said. so i've decided to memorized it, so ask me about it in a week or so

planet telex

earlier today i was shopping for food at the local 'kroghetto' (if you don't know what or where it is then come visit me and i'll take you there) as i was leaving the store i had to walk by a display of leftover valentines day cookies with icing on them in the middle of an aisle. as i passed i witnessed a girl about 8-10 years of age, a bit on the chubby side (i ain't hatin, i'm a little on the chubby side too) very sneakily open one of the containers and scoop off a small bit of the icing with with her finger, place the finger in her mouth and then shut the lid of the cookie container. needless to say i doubt that i will ever purchase anything from that kroger where the possibility of sneaky icing licking can take place.<br
